These were some of the most common ways to be executed
Stoned
Being stoned is the most ancient way to get killed. Getting stoned consists of many people trowing rocks to the punished until he/she would die. The reasons of getting stoned would be because the criminal would be caught in the crime or when the person got discovered committing adultery.
Burned at the stake
Many people would get burned at the stake in the medieval ages for having beliefs that contradicted the Church. Those people were called heretics. Other Criminals would also get burned.
Beheaded
Being beheaded is to get your head chopped off. In the Medieval Ages you would get a couple strikes with a large ax in the neck a couple times until your head would fall off. latter on the guillotine was developed to make the decapitation process less painful. the blade is slanted so when it comes in contact with the neck it would slice it instead of chopping it off.
Hang
The punished may be weighed the day before the execution, and a rehearsal is done using a sandbag of the same weight as the prisoner. The purpose of this is to determine the length of 'drop' necessary to ensure a quick death. If the rope is too long, the punished could be decapitated, and if it is too short, the strangulation could take as long as 45 minutes. Before the execution, the prisoner's hands and legs are secured, he or she is blindfolded, and the noose is placed around the neck, with the knot behind the left ear. The execution takes place when a trap-door is opened and the prisoner falls through.
Firing Squad
during the execution trough the firing squad it would consist of a line of executes equipped with a rifle. the executed would be blind folded, and standing or kneeling. After the signal the leader makes the squad would open fire upon the executed causing his or her death.
The Electric Chair
The process to be executed by the electric chair was some what long. first the punished was usually shaved. then the he was strapped down to the chair with some belts across the chest, groin, legs, and arms. Also a metal skullcap-shaped electrode is attached to the scalp and forehead over a sponge moistens with saline. Next a jolt of between 500 and 2000 volts, which lasts for about 30 seconds, is given and the process is repeated until the punished is killed.
Lethal Ejection
Pentobarbital, Propofol, and Midazolam are the most common used drugs used to execute people with. the punished is tied down to a table like the one in the picture this execution is visible trough a couple of windows that from one side look like mirrors.
